Nestled in the heart of Poltu Quatu, Tanit is a sanctuary of Sardinian heritage, refined hospitality, and coastal beauty. Our name, drawn from the ancient Phoenician goddess, evokes the spirit of the island - bold, sacred, and rooted in the rhythms of the sea. Whether you're joining us for an intimate evening or a celebratory occasion, we invite you to experience the soul of Sardinia through food, wine, and warm Mediterranean charm.

The story is that two lovers on a sailing adventure entered the natural fjord of Poltu Quatu over five decades ago, and instantly fell under its spell. A small village sprang up in the 1980s, and Tanit has been at its heart ever since. From here, we look out to the bay and back to the mountains, extending a welcome to adventurers from far and wide.

Our menu is written in the landscape and seascape that surrounds you. Fresh lobster, seabass, squid, amberjack and oysters from the bay. Seasonal harvests from the valleys and mountainsides. All prepared with a distinctively modern take on time-honoured Sardinian recipes and cooking techniques.
Tanit has entered a new chapter in its story, with a bold restoration and renewal project led by designers Meyer Davis. Inspired by the surrounding rock formations and movement of the waves, the space weaves rich blues and warm golds into a welcoming haven that sparkles above the harbour as the sun sets.
Elevating the experience, is a standout culinary program led by Michelin-starred Chef Andrea Berton: a visionary of contemporary cuisine with a sophisticated take on Italian tradition, known for his collaborations with top international brands.
On the pastry side, acclaimed Pastry Chef Fabrizio Fiorani - already a star at W Rome, the brand’s first Italian opening - curates a series of inventive dessert menus; he also brings to life the Dolce Room, a dedicated, enclosed space within the hotel’s signature restaurant TANIT, offering guests a captivating, immersive journey into the world of sweets.
